frequent crashes

Hi

I've just installed Word 2003. My OS is XP (with all the
patches & SPs installed), but it seems to crash very
frequently, and always when pasting text. I've got a
separate old version of Word (pre 97) which doesn't crash
when text gets pasted in, and I can successfully paste
from old Word to Word 2003 - but it seems an awkward
workaround.

Thanks in advance.

The most common reasons for this are needing updated graphics and/or printer
drivers or a mass of abandoned temp files in the temp folder.

When all applications are closed (preferably after a fresh boot), take a
look in Documents and Settings, Username, Local Settings, Temp folder and
make sure it is empty. If it isn't delete all the files left there.

Check the support site for the Graphics and printer drivers to see if they
have updated drivers and install them.

Test the system again. Word2003 is pretty stable under Windows XP.
