All our office's PC are running on XP OS & Office XP. Recently we had a bout
of virus attack namely brontok forcing all pc to be sent for major service,
format & reinstallation of os & XP.
One of the PC a relatively new Dell Dimension 4700 with 256MB DDR2 SDRAM
running on 3.4GHz P4 with 1MB of L2 cache (800MHz bus) is still having
problem.
(a) When we switch on, the bios prompt for F1 or F2 before proceeding.
(b) Once sign-on, it takes 5 minutes for the system to display all items
(only 10 - normal MS plus 3 additional short-cuts)
What is causing this error msg and why it takes forever to sign-on?
