From getting data, to viewiing/printing it

Hi again,
I have been working on a database that gathers
ionformation from four fields. A Date field, and (let's
call the next two) Info1 and Info2 fields, with the last
field being Initials.
Now I have the Tables, the Forms (for data entry), a
Report template (for viewing aforementioned data), and I
also have copied over (from a different DB) a Form for
range-of-date entry: (Beginning Date, and Ending Date),
with a Preview button (which I am hping can be modified to
a Print button.

What I need to be able to do, is to select Preview or
Print data from a specified Date Range. Like....I would
make choices from the Switchboard(s) that will eventually
bring me to a Form which will ask for the range-of-dates,
and then either Preview, or Print the Report (depending on
previous selections) with data from the specified range of
dates.
I would guess(?) that once I get to the point where I am
able to Preview a range-of-dates in a Report, I should be
able to then have a button somewhere, allowing me to Print
the same Report.
Maybe I'll let this part go for now, and mention another
aspect I am wondering about.

When I get far enough along, I am going to want to
prevent any unauthorised "user" modifications of the DB.
I believe I read somewhere that this is possible and that
I will be able to remove the Toolbars from the top of the
various Forms, Reports and etc.?

Hmmm.... this is turning into a book. Sorry, but thanks
in advance for any help I can get with this.

Again, please feel free to respond to our personal e-
mail address if you'd like/prefer to, or if you have some
examples of Forms/Reports etc. that I may need.

Hi Clayton,
What I need to be able to do, is to select Preview or
Print data from a specified Date Range.

Create a command button on your form. The wizard will show options such as
"preview report" and "print report". It will automatically generate code for
YourButton_Click event. You can edit this code to pass the date parameters.

Eg:
stDocName = "YourReport"
DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName, acViewPreview, , _
"DateField>#1/1/2004# AND DateField<#12/31/2004#"
able to Preview a range-of-dates in a Report, I should be
able to then have a button somewhere, allowing me to Print
the same Report.

You can preview the report and then print it if you want.
When I get far enough along, I am going to want to
prevent any unauthorised "user" modifications of the DB.
I believe I read somewhere that this is possible and that
I will be able to remove the Toolbars from the top of the
various Forms, Reports and etc.?

Look up for "user-level security" on MS-Access Help.
