Hi All

quick question about something that's drive me round in circles at work...

The place I work use MSP98 on NT4 but some laptop users are users
MSP2000 with the save to MSP98 option turned on. One of our planners is
experiencing a little difficulty in copy and cutting and pasting these
plans together in MSP98. She gets a Dr Watson Error but its not much
help. Does anyone know of an known issues in working this way? Does
MSP2000 add any extra structure to the .mpp file that might me causing
MSP98 to crash?

Thanks in advance....

It has been a long time, but I recall that MSP98 would crash if there wasn't
data in certain fields. You are correct that there is more information in a
proj2000 file and that the conversion strips some information. My advice
would be to have the planner use Project 2000 when she is putting the plans
together and see if that helps.

You should knows that Microsoft no longer supports Proj98 anymore so you are
unlikely to get much help from them.

Thank you JackD! I realize that MSP98 is a little long in the tooth now,
but I can't seem to get this site to buy into something a little more up
to date!

Once again thanks for the pointers.

best regards
