FromConnects problem

Dear All,

I have created some custom shapes which in turn have sub shapes. When i
connect these shapes with dynamic connectors, the "FromConnects" collection
returned by Visio is empty!

Am I doing something wrong while creating shapes? Any help highly
appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

first make sure your connectors are glued to the shapes properly (i.e. with
the red end-points & not green), this has given me alot of unneeded stress
before.

sometimes when using grouped shapes connects/fromconnects will only be found
on the sub-shapes, not on the parent, so you should be checking the parent,
the sub-shapes and if they have any sub-shapes check those too.
a recursive function is probably the best way to do this quickly and easily.

Hello All,

Thanks for you co-operation, but I found the problem. I figured out that my
custom shapes didn't have the "Connection Points" section in shape sheet. I
have created the connection points with Connection Point tool. I don't know
why didn't it insert the section first time, generally it does. Once I
re-created the connection points with Connection Points section in shape
sheet "FromConnects" started working fine.

Thanks and Regards,

When you create connection points using the Connection Point tool, it does
create a section in the ShapeSheet. The big question is whose ShapeSheet?

If you had a grouped shape, which is what it sounds like, the section may
have been added to one of the component shapes that make up the group rather
than the main shape that is created when the shapes were grouped.
