fromula error

hi i m having a problem with excel sheet.recently when any formul is entered
in a cell, the result doesnt change when the value of the cell is changed.
for e.g. in a formula cell C4=b4+a4, the value of b4 is 50 & a4 is 40 the
resullt comes to 90 only for the first time. whenever the value of either a4
or b4 is changed the result in c4 doesnt change.i.e. when value of b4 is
modified to 70 from 50 it doesnt have the effect on the result.how to solve
this problem. earlier i was not having such problem.please guide me, thanks.

Hi Bhavin,

Given the typos in your post, are you sure you're typing the formula correctly? If you are, check that calculation is set to
'automatic' (Tools|Options|Calculation) and that the cells concerned are not formatted as text (Format|Cells|Number).

It is possible that you have automatic calculation turned off. Try pressing
F9 and see if that forces calculation. If it does then find workbook
calculation in Options and set it to automatic.

If you can't find where to set the options then reply with the version of
Excel that you are using.

Press F9 key to see if it produce the desired result, if it does then
Your caculation is turn on to Manual. To turn this to automatic
Go to Tool >> Options >> Calculation
check on Automatic
