Front Page 2003 Adding a flash intro page.

I've created a web site with front page 2003 and have added some flash
content on a couple of pages. How can I now add an "intro" page to boot in
browser before "index" or "home" page? Any help is appreciated

The first page a browser will look for is your index page (index.htm, .html,
default.asp, aspx, etc..)

If you want a flash intro, it will need to be on that page, you can then
redirect to a main page (action script) if you wish, or build out a
navigation menu.

Things to consider:

1- If your going to put Flash on the home page, make sure you have some text
links to your main pages so the search engines can follow them.

2- You may also want to consider a "Skip Intro" link for people who don't
want to watch it, or don't have the Flash player installed.

Thanks "JDR" for a very quick response.

The flash content I put on the "home" page is the banner at top of page and
also a flash banner on last page.

The home page still has "links" to the other web pages. I guess those
without flash will not be able to view the "banner".

I had a "marquee" on the home page but the "Flash" content looks much
better. So the page comes up but is not an "intro" page. As you can tell, I'm
a novice at this and it is my first try at developing a web page. I guess I
can add text to the home page that Flash is required to view the "Banner".
Thanks again and I'll keep "playing around.

You'll be fine with a Falsh banner, it is a better alternative than using the
FP Marquee, since that is only supported in IE.

Flash is widely supported, so you probably don't need text stating it is
required to see your banner, but that is your decision.

Have fun with your site and don't be afraid to try different technologies,
it's how you learn:))

Thanks for the "encouragement". Can you recommend a good Calendar add in for
front page or is there a way to do it from front page?

Regards,
Jim
