I am not sure how I did this since I've been working with various versions of
Front Page for years, but recently updated to 2003 from something like 98. I
was working on a large document with two tables full of text data. I needed
to change font properties in the lower table. Somehow I moved the tabl to
what I THINK might have been a "library item" area. The only other thing
that I might have done is remove the first table when I went into the font
properties in "Code" to get rid of a lot of "span" commands.
The point is, before I knew it, the first table had been over-written by the
second table. Worse, it appears that my backup, also of the same name but
with "BAK"as an extra, was over-written as well. There appears to be no
"undo" on my 2003 Front Page (if there is, I can't find it) so all I have
left is an earlier version that is 1/3 of all the data I need. The rest, it
appears, is GONE!
Is there any way to get back the document that was
over-written/automatically changed by a library item? And, where is the
"undo" feature on 2003?
I tried using a file recover program but that didn't work. Is all, lost?
Apparently Microsoft doesn't bother to provide technical support, even if you
just bought the program (and it's not that inexpensive) so I'm throwing
myself out here, hoping that someone will be kind enough to respond. I am
looking at weeks of work unless there is some sort of fix for this, and I
DON'T want it to ever happen again..so I want to get a better idea of how to
deal with this problem. Thanks in advance for your help.
