Front Page 98 / Vista

I've been using Front Page 98 for years. Had to buy a new computer, which
came pre-loaded with Vista.

When I attempt to import my work I get the message " Port 80 is already in
use " .

Am I sunk, or is there a way around that ?

The web server that comes with FP98 is not compatible with Vista - if
you have installed this, remove it. In extreme cases you may have to
reinstall Vista to get rid of it. The web server that comes with some
versions of Vista do not support FP extensions, which FP98 requires.

You might be able to use FP98 with disc based webs, but this is at best
a painful process. It will work on Windows XP, but not sure about
Vista.

Best advice is to upgrade.

There is a beta version of the FrontPage Server Extensions available for
Vista although I haven't tried them out yet.

Why do you say that? As long as their FPSEs any version of FP should work
with them. Although I haven't used FP98 in a long, long time. I'm surprised
that it would even work on Vista to start with.
