front page converts htm to php and messes everything up!

Here's the strange thing. When I published the page FrontPage copied the
index.htm and created a index.php file and uploaded them both. This is just
annoying as hell and if I remove the .php file then when you click on any
menu in the image map on any page (other than the home page) will route you
to index.php!

I just want it to behave the way it was before.

Oh yeah, the counters? they work now. But non on the .php file only on the
..htm file.

This is a issue with your host. They have index.php as the first document in
the default document (home page) list set for your hosting account. You need
to contact them to change this or learn to live with index.php if they will
not change it.
