Front Page Crashes when attempting to open a website on hard drive

Rick Tidd

Using FP 2003. Has been working fine.
Will open OK. When I go to File and Open Site, it crashes immediately, does
not go any farther.
I tried detect and repair with no solution.
I then uninstalled FP, rebooted and re-installed FP2003, and am still
getting the same result.
I ran FP Cleaner, cleared the hidden files and the web cache. There are NO
addins installed. Cleared all toolbar settings.
It is still crashing when attempting to open a website, just as soon as I
choose open site, it crashes.
Windows XP - 3GB ram, 80GB remaining on hard drive.
Any help will be appreciated.
Rick

Sound like a corrupt menu (or addin)
Find and delete CMDUI.PRF
- usually in
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\State

Any other suggestions?
I am really stumped.

Not possible
Any time you open FP it creates the file if it does not exist
Make sure in windows explorer you have file properties to show known and system files

I thought I had those checked and I did. I also made certain in the search
windows under advanced, I had: Search System folders, Search hidden files and
folders and search subfolders all checked.
I then started Front Page again, and still could not open any web.
I then ran the search, and did not find the file.
Boy is this frustating.
Any registry keys at which I should be looking?
Thanks for the help.
