Front Page Crashes

J

Joe Shenefield

I am a new user to Frontpage 2002. I have windows XP home
edition on my computer a pent III. Frontpage appears to
have installed correctly. I can create a web page, add
text to it, save it, change themes, use navigation view,
and other views. However, if I try to add a page banner
or a navigation link the product gives an error message
window notifying me that "an error has occurred" and then
the window to send a report to microsoft and then the
product closes. Your advice is really appreciated thank
you.

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP

Also check if your graphics card has the latest video driver and directX installed
Also the Dynamic Effects (Hoover & Banner Ad require a JAVA engine on your machine)
