Front Page Navigation View and custom nav bars on main page

DSG

I have a page (introductory) labeled "Our Newsletters"
On that page I have created the labels for the already created child pages
(three years of monthly newsletters) divided this way:
Jan 2001.......Jan 2002........Jan 2003
Feb 2001.......Feb 2002.......Feb 2003
etc...................etc...................etc

I want to link each of the above labels to it's specific page, creating my
own navigation bars (not inside shared borders).

Now I need to get them into the navigation view. My plan is to drag the file
names of each month from the Folders List over to be child pages under the
"Our Newsletters" folder. Is it correct to set up the linkage before I drag
the individual pages into navigatoin view?

Or if I first drag the individual pages into the navagation view to do the
automatic linkage, how can I use my own navigation layout above on the "Our
Newslettrs" page?

Yes
- then apply a nav bar in the page (child pages only)
