Several weeks ago, I ask in this group why my front page stopped working. I
got a few responses but none of them worked. I then came back and wrote of
icons being different between previous web sites and what I saw now. One said
it did not matter. Took the server to "Geek Squad" and several hundred
dollars later, they did not know the answer either. Several E-mails to
MicroSoft Technical went unanswered as well. I finally called Tech support,
credit card and all, and spoke with "Akmed" in India and explained my
problem. He took a few minutes to research the issure and told me of a
security update (KPxxxxx) that turned off or on something in my security
settings which prevented Front Page from working. After about an hour of
Akmed's help and changing several settings, Front Page now works again. His
clue was the difference in the Icons from a saved web site and the newly
created site. It must be IE (pagename).htm and not FrontPage (pagename).htm
Thanks to you that tried to help but its something MicroSoft did and did not
bother to tell anyone about. Auto updates on my server are now turned off.
I'll take the risk instead, because its cheaper to format/reload than go thru
this again.
