Frontends on shared drive

When giving each user their own copy of the frontend mde (Access97), does it
make a difference if the copies are on a shared drive vs. their c drive? It
would be easier to maintain them on a shared drive since there are occasional
updates. But if it causes the database to run slower, then I'll help them
configure their copy on their c drive. It is secure, they need to log on to
the database using a shortcut.

Thanks for the advice.
