FrontPage 2000:How do I make an existing page secure (for credit)

Lee R.

I've created a website in FrontPage 2000. I have an order form that I'd now
like to make secure because I want to start accepting credit card payments
via this form. Can anyone help? I've checked the reference books I've got
but it appears that a whole new website has to be created. I just want to
use SSL on an existing page that I intend on editing. Thanks, Lee R.

You will need a security certificate installed on your website to enable
the SSL. If the order form is to be processed by a FrontPage component,
the FPextensions will have to be installed on Port 443.

Credit Card information cannot be stored in the website - it needs to be
stored in a secured database (if your bank allows this - many don't) or
processed immediately without storage. IMO, Access is not a secure
database for this purpose. Credit Card information must not be sent from
the website by email, unless the email is encrypted using a method approved
by your bankers.
