Frontpage 2000 on XP Media Center OS

Is Frontpage 2000 compatible with XP Media Center OS?

Iam only user on OS; set up as Admin.

I get the following error each time OS starts:
"Microsoft Office 2000 component has encountered a problem and needs to
close...." and it prompts me to send (or not) an error report.

I have removed Frontpage; run only Office 2000 = no errors.

removed Office 2000 and re-installed only Frontpage 2000 = error.

If I close error report, and start Frontpage, I can open new webs but cannot
open existing webs.

One of two errors comes up: "Microsoft Office 2000 component has encountered
a problem and needs to close...." OR "System exception:access violation."

Suggestions?

Corey,

Thanks for the suggestion - I was going down that road as I got your reply.
Thanks for confirming as a path!

FP2000 will work under Windows XP. What options are you installing?

Thomas,

On the latest install, I chose the 'recommended' installation. It did not
resolve the issue.

I also adjusted the 'compatibility mode' to Windows 2000 however that only
resulted in the following error once I opened an existing web:

"The instruction at "0x000394e4" referenced memory at "0x678d7a5d". The
memory could not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program."

I have not investigated further.....the lure of NFL football and the couch....

Any thoughts you may have would be appreciated.

Ronx,

That cleared quite a few files out but did not resolve the issue. I hate to
spend the money, but I may be just about ready to move to FP2003...

Thanks

I just read another post asking if there are issues with FP in a dual core
environment.

I am running the Intel "core 2". I know this is not really a "duel-y" but I
wonder if this could have anything to do with it????
