Frontpage 2000 question

Claude

Hi: How do I get around this:

My Frontpage program insists on putting information into the head of every
document, such as:

<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">

I don't want these remarks in at all, plus, I'd like to decide what goes
into the head of my html myself..

Surely, there is setting that can I can change.....Yes? Hopefully!

Thank you,
Gloria

The above site tells you how and what and how to put in your headers that gets
the results you what, and that is for people to find your website that really
want to!!

If you use FP, MS is going to add that advertisement to the top of every page,
and as soon as you take it out, it gets put right back in. :-(

Not true. For FrontPage 2003, got the menu Tools -> Page Options ->
Authoring, and uncheck the "Generator and ProgID tags".

Also, check the Optimize Published HTML settings (button for this in
FP2K3 appears in the Remote Website View).

I have neither of them checked, and while FP2K3 has a few initial
default tags when I create anew blank page, I can remove or change them
and FP2K3 never alters anything on me.
