FrontPage 2000 running EXTREMELY SLOW

M

MWAID

I am having some major issues with FrontPage 2000.

For some reason, it is now running so slow that it is impossible to use.
Here is what happens:

- I click on FILE/OPEN WEB
- I choose a website that I would like to coneect to (on an external server)
and double click it
- In the past, within a second or two a login box would appear. Now, it
takes at least 5 minutes for any response to happen at all. In the mean
time, FrontPage completely locks up.
- IF I am lucky enough for it to show me a login box, I then enter my
credentials and login.
- Once I am in, if I try to "SAVE AS" a page, it again takes at least 5
minutes for anything to happen. In most cases, it completely locks up and
never recovers.

This does not happen to any of the websites I have on my local computer,
just when I am trying to connect to any of the 30 external websites that I
manage.

What also makes it strange is that if I type in the web address (instead of
just double clicking it from the list of sites), It does connect, but still
takes a good 2 or 3 minutes. However, if I connect this way I still
experience the "SAVE AS" problem.

I have tried reinstalling frontpage to no success.

Any help would be appreciated more than you can understand. This is getting
CRAZY.

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Also, how long since you cleared your temporary internet and history files??
