FrontPage 2003 GIF Animations

How do I make FrontPage 2003 do the FTP of GIF animation
files to remote webserver from disk-based website without
changing the gif file to a jpeg file due to various
factors such as color ranges, etc.? I have already tried
changing default on FrontPage 2003 pictures to retain gif
type regardless of color range, and this initially
worked, but now something else seems to cause the same
problem again after adding more gif animations. I do the
upload and publishing of the gif animations, but the
animations don't work at web server end since the file
type seems to be converting anyway regardless of
successful upload and publishing messages. The animations
work fine from disk-based website end using IE version
6.0 browser and Windows XP home edition OS.

Start by using File Import to import your original .gif animations into your FP web / site, and don't resample or resave them in FP
- if they are not in your FP web/site, FP resaves them breaking the animation
- resaving a .gif in anything but a gif animator program will convert it to a static gif

Then just publish the site

OK, I tried that. But it doesn't solve problem. I also
tried to use WS_FTP PRO to upload files in lieu of FP and
WS_FTP PRO indicates perfect execution of animations at
server side while the actually website still doesn't
work. So maybe the problem is not just FP. The publishing
feature is usually slow and inconsistent when using FP.
But still, when FP gives me successful publishing
messages while not correcting the problem, then I begin
to wonder.

I don't think it's a FrontPage issue, but is an issue with how the images are being placed in the
web, or how they're linked within the pages.
You can name a file in a web 1234.ilikehotdogs and FrontPage will publish it to a server.

I think my freaking IE browser is screwed up on Windows XP
Home edition OS after I installed FrontPage 2003. Then
again, I also installed OS update just a few days before
the FrontPage 2003 installation. However, I installed
Netscape 7.1 a few hours ago and things work fine. I would
like someone to test IE using Windows XP Home Edition at my
website and let me know what happens.

On my system (XP Home, IE6), the animation works fine, if that's your
question.
