FrontPage 2003 locking up when saving and image probs....

A

Angela

Just started having a problem with Frontpage 2003 while working on The
website page @ http://billyzanemuseum.com/WhatsNew.html
When I attempt to save a page it locks up and stalls on me to the point
where I have to Control-Alt-Del to get it to close. It does save the
file. But I hate to have to close out the program every time.

Also just started having the problem with images not being saved on the
site and still linked to my computer. Also I am having a problem with
the Auto-Thumbnail greyed out on images at this site only. Only websites
I operate with Frontpage 2003 are not having any of these probs. Was
wondering IF site settings may be messed up or something.

Any helped provided will be greatly appreciated.

LOVE this newsgroup! :) Thanks to everyone who helps out here.

GOD BLESS YOU!

Have you tried the usual repairs
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

Also See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324843

You may also want to change the following reg key (because sometimes a site
become corrupt, adn then as you launch FrontPage and it tries to open that
site, it crashes):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage
Explorer\Settings\OpenLastWeb (set it to 0)

It sure sounds like you are opening a page to edit it without opening your web first.
Make sure you launch FrontPage and then click file > Open Web and then when the web is open, click
on a page to edit it.

If you are and you still have problems, close FrontPage, clear your browser Temporary Internet
files.
Then do a search for files named *.web and delete all found. ( yep I said all found )

Then copy and paste the following into Start Run and click OK.

%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\FrontPageTempDir

In the folder that opens, delete any files and folders that show. Cols the folder and then reopen
FrontPage and your web.
