frontpage 2003 search button returns error "service not running"

I have created a search page for my website using Frontpage 2003. The page
has an .htm extension (so the .asp problem is not applicable). After loading
the page to the server and entering data in the search box it returns the
following
"error from search:service is not running" How do I fix this problem?

It sounds as if it is trying to use index server on the host server, and the
service is not running and set up to catalog the site. Contact your host.

Index server must be started and index catalog created for the site on the live/remote Windows
server.

Thanks for the information. Can you tell me how I would start the index
server and create the index catalog on the remote windows 03 server?
