Hi
I use company computer to set up a small database.

I get the following:
This is the start of a Database Results region. The page must be
fetched from a web server with a web browser to display correctly; the
current web is stored on your local disk or network. (what does this
mean???)

when i display the webpage, the data from the database doesnt show up
on the page, and I get the following:
The Database Results component on this page is unable to display
database
content. The page must have a filename ending in '.asp', and the web
must be
hosted on a server that supports Active Server Pages.

the page have a ending in .asp, "the web must be hosted on a server
that supports Active Server Pages." what does this mean and what do i
need to do to solve it?

Please help me......>o<

ASP pages will NOT work on a disk-based web that is hosted on your local
computer. You must publish the web site to a web server. If you want to use
ASP then it should be a Windows server. You would open your site in
FrontPage and choose File, Publish Site, http://www.yourdomain.com (where
yourdomain.com is the URL to your web site). If you don't have this
information ask your company's web server department.

How are you displaying the page?

I have set up ASP pages on a server which supports ASP, but when I try to
open the same page on my PC (which does not have a server supporting ASP) I
get the same message as you have described.

How to solve it ??
Is the site on our company computer?
Does your company computer support ASP ?

I'm a beginner in ASP myself, but the answers to these questions may help
either me or others

Well, David. You've done it again.

That was the direction I was heading at with my questions, even though I
have little knowledge of ASP.

But you posted at the same time :)) <big grin>

:) Yes, we do seem to always be on at the same time. Great minds think
alike right? :)

I've the same problem as Raymondo, I've checked and I am hosted on a web
server which allows ASP and have the correct address ....... what am I doing
wrong

This is my first time creating a form - sending to database
I can see the database and the results form, the results form isn't working
due to the error above and when I click to view the database, my screen
flashes, though I never get to see the open database

Am I going about the right way, how exactly do people view results using the
database, do you open your web site, and on the right hand window, click the
folder 'fpdb' then right click the database and 'view properties', I then get
an option for open or save, when I choose 'open', another option to open the
database appears, then dissapears with a flash..... if I choose save, it does
save, though there is no data.......

Hope you can help....

I have run into this problem also. I have gone so far as to delete and
rebuild. Your point in checking is just one step in correcting the problem.
In an other message the question was asked, have you installed an new
software. This is were I am currently at, if others find the answer please
let me know
Thank You
