Frontpage Centering, the Window and how do I Sort

T

TOMMY GLASSFORD

I have been using Frontpage to build my site and looking at it online I find
that a lot of the text isn't centred. When I review it in FrontPage it looks
the way I intend it to be. How do I correct the centering if Frontpage is
showing me it's okay?

Also, does anyone know how to keep the opened window in FrontPage
'stationary' at the file you've just hyperlinked? When I'm doing a list of
links it would
save me one hell of a lot of time if I could keep the thing at the last one
I had done instead of when I do the next I find it's back at the start of
the list and I need to scroll down to find the next file to hyperlink.

I've got a table of contents which I have in alphabetical order. There's
various pages of contents and it will be real time consuming if and/or
when I want to add other items to the lists which are links. Does anyone
out there know how to quickly sort in FrontPage. I've tried pasting to
Word, it doesn't work.

I can't give a definitive answer without seeing the page. Can you supply a
URL?

The normal approach, though, is to surround the entire page with an HTML
table as wide as you want the page to be, and then center the table.

There's no way to do that.

However, it may be just as easy to bypass the Insert Hyperlink dialog box
completely. Instead, drag the file(s) you want from the Folder list and crop
them on your Web page. This action creates a hyperlink to each file you drag
and drop.

FrontPage has no way to sort a group of paragraphs (or any other content)
that you select.

If you really have that many links, you might want to investigate keeping
them in a database, or writing an ASP or ASP.NET page that reads the
filenames from the server's file system. Either way, the server would create
a complete and properly sorted table of contents every time a visitor
browsed the page.

Tommy:
I *think* the reason your text looks a bit off-center is that you've got a
left shared border that's empty - in your HTML I see: <meta name="Microsoft
Border" content="tlb, default"> If you remove the left border, it should
center the page.
