FrontPage could not parse

When I attempt to recalculate the links in my web site I get this from FP:

"The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are
trying to connect to a Windows SharePoint Services server, check with the
server's administrator to make sure Windows SharePoint Services is installed
properly."

The problem started when a couple of my Table of Contents (based on page
category) had bad entries in them and it seemed like the "Tools |
Recalculate Hyperlinks" should sort it out. Now none of the TOC's work.

This is not a SharePoint Server that I'm working with.

Any ideas what the problem might be?
