FrontPage Database Functions

I use FrontPage extensively to register people for events, provide
interactive browser access to data on the web, and to report all kinds of
data from all of the databases i use. I have gotten proficient in creating
and maintaining databases and particularily in setting up reports and
interactive modules. I guess i am spoiled too, because I depend heavily on
FrontPage and FrontPage Extensions from the original version thru FP2003 to
set up the connections and keep everything running smoothly.

My two big questions are:

1 Which software package do i need to be sure i can continue to create
databased web features like i do with FrontPage?
2 As near as I can tell FrontPage Extensions will be a thing of the past as
well, so what will replace them in the replacement software? How will I have
to publish my webs?

You can continue to use FrontPage 2003 to do this - I am.

The FrontPage Server Extensions 2002 running under Windows Server 2003 will
be supported for a long time.
How will I have to publish my webs?

The same way you do now.

Thanks Kathleen. I do most of my webs for service organizations (Rotary
clubs and such) free, so I am always trying to get some younger people
involved in continuing what i have started. One of the things that has
"Spooked" them is this FronPage phaseout. They don't want to spend the bucks
to buy FrontPage nor spend the time to learn it when it is essentially
obsolete. Another thing is how this is going to effect the web hosting
companies. I am very unsure how much longer they will continue to support a
losing product.

I want to move on beyond FrontPage, but I would liketo know how difficult it
is going to be to learn the new way of managing databases on the web, and if
I will be able to continue doing the things I am now doing in FrontPage. For
instance will there be a Database wizard, a Results page, etc.
