Frontpage distorts Pasted Images?

Ok, so I went from using Frontpage XP on win98se to using Frontpage XP on
winXP. I used to by able to copy (ctrl-c) and image in my editing software
(Adobe Photoshop) and then paste it (ctrl-v) that image into a table row in
Frontpage. The pasted image would retain it's original dimension and
everything.

However, now, when I paste it onto the page, Frontpage automatically resizes
the picture to fit into the row and ends up distorting and messing up the
picture. If I open the office clipboard, I can double click the image from
there and it'll paste the picture in without distortion or resize.

How do I get frontpage to NOT edit the picture when I go to paste it (ctrl-v)?



Side note... Edit > Paste, and right-click paste also distort and resize the
picture.

Any help would be great please.

I'm not trying to edit the pictures in frontpage though. I WANT the image
file to remain the same size I'm pasting it onto the HTML file at.

Save the image from PS to your desktop as a JPG (RGB format), then import into FP, then insert on
your page.

I know, but why is it, that I can paste from the Office Clipboard without
frontpage resizing and distorting it, but the NORMAL pastes screw up the
image. Isn't there an option some where to make paste do what it normally
does?

By the way, import means File | Import from somewhere on
your hard drive into your Front Page web.

The issue is most likely the format being used by PhotoShop when you do a copy and paste, so if you
want to avoid problems, you should always save images from any application in the final format
needed (JPG-RGB or GIF), then import into your FP web, then insert on your page.

It sounds more like an issue between Photoshop and the clipboard. Like it is
not getting all the info from Photoshop.

Some image formats are distorted by Clipboard...don't use it.

Rob, can you say more about this? It's the first I have ever heard of it.

Edit your images in Photoshop, size them in photoshop, optimize them in
photoshop...then Import them into FP (your images folder) then Insert them
into your design. Don't use FP to edit your images.

btw...don't save it to a jpg until you are happy with everything about the
image - stay in psd or tiff until you're ready to Import.

These are jpegs. As I said, things paste PERFECT from the Office Clipboard,
but a basic ctrl-v distorts and resizes it to fit the cell. Got any other
theories?

Nope, when I open up Paint or Paint Shop Pro, and copy an image then paste it
into Frontpage it does this too.

It's either winXP (cause it worked fine in win98se) or it's a setting on the
re-install of frontpage.

Nope, resizes and distorts from Paint and Paint Shop Pro too.

Listen, everything worked fine when I was using win98se and officexp. Now
I'm on a winxp and officexp machine, and frontpage is resizing the images and
distorting them from a basic ctrl-v, but when I use the Office Clipboard, it
pastes the image in with NO distortion and NO resizing.

It's FRONTPAGE.

Can't happen. Really - the only thing that could cause that would be some
CSS rule on the page that is forcing the image to resize.

Look - if I take a 50px square table cell and drop a 200px square image into
it, that cell will become 200px square. The only ways an image would resize
on the page would be a) if you did it, or b) if some CSS rule did it.

I've pasted ... ohhh ... a few million images from the clipboard and never
seen such a thing happen. Could you possibly show me your page? Perhaps
you could post a link to the page?

Well you can avoid the issue totally, no matter how it happens, by saving the image to your desktop
first, then importing into FP and then inserting on your page.

When you right click on the image and look at properties, what does it say?

BTW, I have never seen this happen before either.

Thankyou, but I'm not looking for a work around, I'm looking for why 2 weeks
ago it worked fine, and today it does something completely different.
