There are several threads on microsoft.public.frontpage.client about new
problems in FrontPage 2003, possibly related to the updates offered at:
http://office.microsoft.com/OfficeUpdate/default.aspx.
The problem I've been getting (detailed in the "The server could not
complete your request" thread) is a dialog box saying "The server could not
complete your request..." whenever I click on the name of one of my Webs in
the "Getting started" panel of FrontPage 2003. The "Details" button on the
dialog leading to a display of the "message that the server returned" is
blank. However, when I open a Web using the File | Open ... commands
everything works fine and the Web is published properly.
Although there could be other synchronous problems such as new software used
by multiple Web hosting companies, the occurrence after the Office Update
raised concerns that there may be a problem with the update. One of the
MVPs in microsoft.public.frontpage.client suggests "We're seeing a lot of
threads about problems arising after installing Office
2003 SP1. You might want to look in the officeupdates newsgroup, and
perhaps ask there."
Any ideas?
