I have been reading posts that FrontPage Server Extensions on Linux/Apache
servers are becoming unmanageable because of patches to them, Linux upgrades,
etc. Couple that with Microsoft's retiring FrontPage (with, presumably,
Expression Web as its heir apparent), I am in a quandry. I cannot find
sufficient documentation on migrating FP websites to ExWeb, in particular the
ramifications of FP sites using FPSE. First, is moving to ExWeb as simple as
opening up a FP web with ExWeb and proceeding, or perhaps exporting the FP
web and then importing to ExWeb? Is publishing a website as easy in ExWeb as
it is in FP? Is there something analogous to FPSE for ExWeb (Expression Web
Server Extensions, if you will)? Am I facing starting from scratch with ExWeb
and, if so (dare I say it on this forum), am I better off using Dreamweaver
or similar? Thank you.
