FrontPage features that require FP Extensions

I understand that FP will be 'retired,' but if it is used to build sites that
function without needing FP extensions at the hosting provider, it should
have a long life as a code generator, even after MS withdraws support. Is
there any place to find out what components require FP Extensions?

A second questions involves FP producing code that will eventually not be
supported in future standards for HTML, XML, etc. Is there any place to find
those features?

Thanks,

Here's a list

Don't use anything from the Draw toolbar which relies on VML...which was
never supported well outside of IE.

Rob,
Thanks for the quick response.
I have a few sites that use form mailers and confirm pages,
and a few hit counters. One uses the Search bot.
Where can we find suitable replacements for these and
other components that will become obsolete as hosting
providers do away with FP extensions.
I hear Expression Web is a highly standardized offering,
but FP is such an easy tool to use, that I want to keep
it as an HTML generator as long as I can.
Thanks,

Best solution for hit counters is: Use the statistics provided by your
host.
Hit counters are pointless since they are totally inaccurate - refresh
the page and you've got another hit.

For forms - first step is find out what your host has to offer, or what
server side languages (asp, asp.net, php, Perl/CGI etc.) they will
support. Then search (Google) for (example) PHP form handler.

Once you know what languages you can use, we can point you in the right
direction.

Expression Web is similar to FrontPage, but has a lot of the webbots
(navigation, forms, galleries) have been removed. Download the trial
and test it out.

Do not forget the product key obtainable from a link on that page.
