Frontpage posting error - accessing your frontpage files...

I recently upgraded to Frontpage 2000 from Frontpage 98 on my Windows
2000 box. I can post to my online websites without any problems but I
cannot post to my local machine. I have a site that I built live and I
would like to post back to my local machine as a backup. I keep
getting an error that says:

"An error occurred accessing your FrontPage files. Authors - if
authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this
servers site. WebMasters - please see the servers system log for more
details"

I also get the same error message when I try to post a web to one of
our network drives. In the past I have done this with FP98 without any
problems on the same machine and now I'm having grief.

I have searched the web for an answern and found many with the same
problem but with no solution. Might have to bite the bullet and pay
mircosoft support $350 (ouch!!) to help solve it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Really Appreciated!!!!!

Regards,
Jeff

Have you tried to FTP the web site to your computer?
This is a good program to do that, and it's free:
WS_FTP LE
You can find it at:
http://www.ftpplanet.com/download.htm

Once you get the site downloaded to your hard drive and modified, just
use the same program to upload the changes. I find this method suits my
needs fine.

You do have a web server running locally with FP extensions enabled?
