Dr. Robert Wertz
I've just installed a discussion board on my website (installed as a sub-web
so I can control user access to browse only). I can post a comment from my
computer, but I cannot reply to any posts on the sub-web at all. When I
press reply, I get the following message on the bottom of my browser:
http://avicennalaser/myweb /_vti_bin/shtml.exe/index.htm?"x" (where "x"=
number of post) The browser just hangs.forever.waiting..
Now here's another finding. The discussion board has full functionality on
any computer outside of my house. I had friends and colleagues verify this.
The techs at my web hosting company were able to use the reply function
also. The problem seems to be limited to all computers in my home (3 total-
using SBC DSL Internet service, Norton
My web is www.avicennalaser.com
The discussion board is located at www.avicennalaser.com/myweb
The user name for the sub web is: cat, the password is: laserdog. Feel free
to check out what I'm talking about.
Please note: if past experience is an indicator, you will be able to post
and reply without difficulty. The inability to reply to messages seems to
be limited to my little world.
MY BACKGROUND INFO
Microsoft FrontPage 2000 Ver. 4.0.2.2717
My server uses FP extensions and has verified that they are installed and
working properly. My complaint is not reproducible at their location.
My web is hosted by www.sunvirtual.com- FP extensions installed
XP Home is my Operating System
Norton Internet Security (updateD subscription)
I would appreciate any suggestions that the group may have regarding these
nuisance issue.
Thank you!
