FrontPage - Saving Form Results to Excel?

J

John

Hello.

If you have a form on FrontPage and the information you want to
collect is just name, email, username and password, and you want to
save this to an excel file, all you would do is put it in the form
properties to be saved as whatever.xls.

However, when you test it with a few misc entries, and then open the
saved file, the information is saved across in columns, is there
anyway you can change it so that it is saved downwards in rows?

For example I get the following:

Name Email Username Password

but I would like to have this:

Name
Email
Username
Password

Do you know if this is possible?

Thanks for your help

John

I am going to get rid of FrontPage soon hopefully and get Dreamweaver.
I just don't have enough dinero at the moment :(

John,

If you were to place your data fields in rows rather than columns your
database would be limited to the number of available columns in an XL
spreadsheet, which are far fewer then the number of available rows. ~250
columns vs. 65K+ rows.

I would expect that you would probably encounter problems with your database
either becoming "full" very quickly or having your data overwritten.

A better solution may be to develop reports that contain the format you
desire using the data from the your database as currently established.
