Frontpage with ASP.NET

I have Frontpage 2003 installed and running IIS and ASP.NET.
When I try to open a datasource to connect to a database I get a message
that I need sharepoint.
Why can't I connect to an access database without sharepoint?

Thanks for any help

Are you working with Windows XP Pro or Windows 2000 / 2003 Server?

Have you installed the FP2002 extensions?

Yes, I have installed the FP2002 extensions (and SP).
Rebooted, restarted FP, and don't see any change.

FP is still asking for Sharepoint.

If it is looking for Windows SharePoint Services, then you will have to upgrade to Windows 2003
server. Suggest you post this to the Windows Server newsgroup.

You should have Microsoft Sharepoint Administrator in Control Panel > Administrative Tools.
Have you tried using it to update / repair extensions??

Also, open Computer Management, click the plus by Internet Information Services,
click once on Default Web Site and you should see a listing named: _Sharepoint

If not, the extensions are not properly installed.
