frontpg.lck

Howard Mathieson

Hi I hope someone can help me with this issue.

I have several webs and have republished to them hundres of times using
fRontpage.

Today after editing a page I tried to publish and got the following message:

"Server error: cannot open file "frontpg.lck" for reading.

Has anyone else encountered this and is there a solution?

Thanks in advance

I believe that *.lck files are used to allow multiple users to edit a
website. IF MyFile.htm is being edited, FP creates something like
MyFile.lck to indicate that MyFile.htm is being edited.

At least, that's what I remember from reading the help.

So... sounds like FP THINKS the page is locked. If you are the ONLY
person who edits that you *might* be able to delete the *.lck file.
Check the help before doing that. Or try RENAMING that to
frontpage_.lck so you can reverse your change if it doesn't work.
