Frustrated - Forms were easy in Word 2003 not so much in 2007

Our office switched everyone to 2007 without any warning and no training.
All the things I did with ease I now am pulling my hair out trying to find a
way to convert or redo them. I am normally a patient person but this has
pushed me to the edge. I even downloaded the trial at home so I could play
around with it. I am having most of my problem with letters I had set up
using the forms tool bar to insert text form fields. Protecting is another
story.

Is anyone else having these issues? Does anyone have any suggestions, in
plain English please. Word 2007 for dummies would be my speed. Why did it
have to change anyway?

You should find http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Classic Form Controls.htm
useful as it adds the familiar forms tools to the developer tab.
If your company imposed Word 2007 on its workforce without any training then
it deserves the loss of productivity that will be the inevitable result.
