Frustrating Excel to Word Copy/Paste Problem

Hi, I'm using Office 2004 and have all the updates installed. I'm
having a weird, VERY frustrating problem with either/both my Excel and
Word apps. In an Excel I have 2 simple column charts that are
independent, but side by side in the worksheet. Whenever I select both
charts and choose COPY, and then switch to Word and choose PASTE
SPECIAL (Picture) only the left-hand chart will actually paste and
display, but the right-hand chart does not display. Oddly, the graphic
"handles" of the right-hand chart display when the chart is selected,
but the actual chart itself does not show up. If I choose PASTE
SPECIAL (MS Office Drawing Object) both charts do show up, but they
are not sized correctly and would require timely adjustment in order
to fit correctly into my documents. So far, the work around has been
to save the charts as a picture in Excel, and then use INSERT PICTURE
in Word - this is quite time consuming as I have 40 pairs of charts to
paste into 40 separate Word documents.

I've used a friends MacBook Pro with Office 2004, my Excel and Word
documents, but the problem cannot be duplicated - the copy/paste of
both charts works fine on his laptop.

Can someone PLEASE help me solve this frustrating, time-consuming
problem?

No. :) I can't solve it, although I can help you guess what is causing
it...

When you copy/paste from Excel, the data is converted into PICT then pasted.
PICT is not a perfect match for the natural display. Things change size
slightly.

When you paste, you create a square sized to contain both images and then
Paste the two images into it. Because the "reported size" of the images is
slightly smaller than the "actual size" the resulting square is not quite
large enough to display both.

If you create a TextBox in Word, then copy the two images independently into
it, it will probably work. If it does, we know what the problem is: get
back to us and we'll try to find a way around it for you.

Cheers
