FTP folders

Recently my home computer hard disk went bad and had to be replaced. My main
copy of my Web site disappeared with it, but I recreated it by publishing
back from my site to my home computer. After I did that I deleted a few FTP
folders that are on the site but not appropriate on my main copy on my home
computer.

Now, though, when I publish to the site, FrontPage inserts a _vti_cnf folder
in each FTP folder and asks me if I want to remove files in them since they
are not on the home computer. No big problem, but this didn't happen before,
I suppose because I had created those FTP folders outside of FrontPage. Still
I would prefer that FrontPage ignore those FTP folders and everything in
them. I'm afraid at some point FrontPage will ask me to delete, I'll hit the
wrong button, and those files will disappear forever.

Is there any way to fix this? I'm assuming somewhere FrontPage has a list
now showing those FTP folders that it didn't show before. I would think if I
remove the FTP folders from that list, FrontPage won't see them the next time
I publish.

You need to create these folder locally and then convert them to subwebs/subsite and then do not
include them when publishing.

OK, I can see that that would work, although I'd still prefer to find a way
to get FrontPage back to the way it was--just ignoring those folders.

That is the only way to have FP ignore the folders that are within a FP web when publishing.
