FTP Publishing and Trojan Horses

I've got two sites that run w/o FP extensions on two different servers, so I
publish to their ftp address. During uploads, my Norton Anti-Virus will
randomly pop-up a window that it has blocked a Trojan Horse, related to an
FP process. The upload is temporarily blocked, but resumes after I click on
"OK". This probably happens about 50% of the time I upload to these servers,
but I have not been able to figure out why sometimes and not others. Both
servers are professionally managed and scans with NAV, adaware, etc have not
turned up a problem, but it's still never a good feeling. Is anyone aware of
anything in the ftp publishing process that might trigger NAV? Thanks for

almost everything will trigger NAV...it's junk.

No arguments here, but publishing to my usual servers with FP extensions
installed has never triggered it. I just wasn't sure what was the
difference. I know this is OT, but what's the smart choice to replace NAV?

try turning NAV off and see what happens when you publish.

I use AVG, NOD32 is supposed to be good too.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd heard good things about AVG, and I'd love to
get something less bulky than NAV. No internet security *thingy* with my
Norton's, just the straight AV. I'm still running the old Sygate firewall
they offered as a free download before Symantec/Norton took it over. When I
ftp published, it was definitely my NAV firing up, not the firewall. Anyway,
thanks again for all the feedback and suggestions.

Norton AV does run a type of mini-firewall, I just can't remember what it's
called, since I dumped norton quite a while ago.
