FTP publishing problem

I have MS Publisher 2003 and have successfully published through last Fall.
I just tried again last week and am having FTP/directory issues. Using
"Publish to the Web" or "Save As" I get the login box as expected. After I
sign in, I should see a list of directories in the site that the login ID has
been linked to, but I just get a blank page. If I try to save, I just get
the "File is Read Only" message mentioned in other blogs. This is actually
at the root of the site (where read only is correct for this user id).

Dreamweaver works ok (had to change ftp to passive), it shows the directory
list. Filezilla works fine also.

I have tried dropping the firewall and changing the router setting to
minimal (inbound/outbound not blocked at all).

I have checked with the ISP (Ipowerweb), they say they are set up correctly
and to not use MS products to publish, to use Mozilla.

Any ideas?

After much testing and research, I found that the problem is not specific to
Publisher. I tried to save a file in Wordpad to the ftp site with the same
result(blank page, no directory list). I tried a suggestion and set up the
ftp site in My Network Places, and I can connect directly from there and see
my directory list. However, if I do Save as then choose my defined network
place, I get the blank page again instead of the directory list.

Any ideas, or which list should I post to since this isn't Publisher specific?

Joe,

Did you perhaps install IE7 since last trying to update your site? There
seems to be a lot of problems associated with Publisher websites and IE7
cropping up recently. Another poster says they can't see their index_files
folder when they log in through IE7 either. Can you still do a web preview
of your site from Publisher on your computer?

Are you using a Linux server to host your site?

Personally, unless you are using a form in your site, I would use a third
party FTP client to upload your site. Filezilla is a freebie that you might
try. http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/
