FTP publishing

Using FP 2002, how do I connect to my website using FTP? I need to publish from my
host to my local box, and I can't get FP to do it.

Does publishing to my host carry the metadata like http publishing?

Thanks,
Mike

You log on using the ftp address.
If your site is www.mysite.com you would log on with either:
ftp://mysite.com
or
ftp://ftp.mysite.com
depending upon the server configuration.

As for metadata, it is "Never" published between computers and servers
but is created at the destination by the extensions.
When publishing to a server using ftp:// there is "No" metadata created on the server.

Errors with message "Frontpage does not support opening files from FTP servers". HUH???
or

depending upon the server configuration.

This one I thought was going to work. It at least got to the ID/PW prompt, but sez
"Cannot connect to the FTP server on the computer named 'ftp://ftp.mysite.com'"

I can connect using an FTP client with no problem.
I was gonna use FTP because http wasn't working. I've called about it, and they
re-installed FP extensions, but no joy so far.

Good to know.
