ftp really slow and other anomalies

As project gets bigger I am having more problem with ftp publishing some of
which are site others are FP2003 I suspect.

Using "yahoo small business" site is http://ResearchRiders.org The site
runs ok and I built it using "use ftp to publish" and wonder if that was a
mistake. There are a lot of small files and pages: no commercial sales,
just club activity.

1. Changes not showing up even with IE7 set to "every time I visit the web
page"

I can hit F5 on explorer from any number of computers on the lan where I
work and the page is old. Not just the system with FP2003 I am developing
on. If I bring up remote desktop or use VNC to access a system off my
companies lan (or just call my wife or kids at home) the correct page shows
up immediately so I know it was sent. When I asked the IT staff here about
that they suggested that pages are being cached but they didnt offer any way
to fix the problem. I dont think they know how to fix the problem or care
since if I wait a few hours the problem goes away.

2. FP2003 ftp fails but using "cmd" to bring up manual ftp under Windows xp
works fine.

If I execute the "publish local to remote" Occiasionally I am prompted
by a dialog box that pops up. Anytime I see that box I know that ftp is
going to hang more often than not. The message might be that it sees a file
on the server that is not on the local system. It might ask me to confirm
that files are going to be overwritten or to click on "apply to all" etc.
More often than not this happens in the middle of a transfer and maybe 30-40
files are transfered ok then it asks for me to confirm something. It
remains stuck on the next file to transfere even thought that is not the one
that caused the info box to pop up. It can hang for minutes but if I go to
RUN-CMD and then log in useing windows xp FTP I can easily navigate to the
proper location and "mput" the files all the time FP2003 is stuck.

I do not have any problems publishing to Microsoft IIs 5 (using Visual
Studio 2005 and aspx project) but those sites are on my companies lan, not
off on yahoo's small business lan.

Anyone using yahoo small business that is publishing usinng FP2003? This
site is very simple, only static pages - no aspx etc.

Is it possible to switch to Visual Studio 2005 and use that instead of
FP2003 or will that work on yahoo server?

Try hitting CNTL-F5 - this will force the page. But it sounds more like a
browser / computer issue, not Frontpage

Frontpage FTP is not that great. Have you considered maybe Filezilla? I
use that and F-Secure - a lot better I think than FP FTP (something that MS
will hopefully fix)
