I have a strange issue with Excel 2003 SP2, but the sam situation is in
evidence with Word as well. I am able to add and FTP location with a username
and password via Save As... menu. I am able to browse that location and save
a file there. I am unable to open the same file from that location via Excel.
I get the message 'Could not open"ftp://www.mysite.com/Book1.xls"'
If I try to go to ftp://www.mysite.com/Book1.xls I can not connect.
If I put in ftp://[email protected]/Book1.xls then it downloads the file.
it would appear to be trying to do an anonymous access even though the
username and password are entered for that FTP location, when trying to open
a file. It does seem to use the username and password when browsing or
saving...
Any one have any info on this?
Thanks,
Morgan
