ftp server

Hello

relative newbie i'm afraid so please bear with me. I've just been given
access details for our tennis club web site. I was expecting to be able to
edit and upload pages using frontpage but i'm not sure if i can.

Apparently its an FTP server and you have to access it via www. I'm a bit
baffled to how i actually make any changes to the pages - frontpage won't
let me.

part of the email from the guy who used to look after the site says:

"Make sure you use www for the ftp server not ftp."

any ideas?

many thanks

Daniel

I think all he means is that the computer answers to the name www.whatever;
some systems are set up with the NAME ftp. The name has nothing really to do
with how you talk to it, it's just a help for people.

I had trouble doping this (using an FTP server) as well. It turns out you
have to go down into the dialog boxes. I use FrontPage XP, so this might not
match exactly, but try File... Publish Web...

When asked for a Publish Destination, hit the Browse button. Then, in the
dropdown at the top, look for a section headed FTP Locations and choose Add.
