No, that's not what you did
You missed the step that says "Now drag the image out of the header" (I
'hope' that step is in the help file...)
Yes, the Anchor for the image must be in the header. But as Elliott says,
the image itself must be floating, then dragged into position outside of the
header.
Use Format>Picture to set the Wrapping to "Behind Text". Then pick up the
image and drag it down the page. The header box will then go back to its
normal size and you can type in your document.

That's what I did Beth...but since the image is full page, after inserting
it inside the header (as the help instructs) The header box took almost the
whole page, and I wasn't able reduce it. So, I had just one single line of
text left to use in each page...
As far as I understood, The watermak is just usefull as a header or a
footer...
What I need is a way to insert a picture "behind the text"...any ideas?
