Function "IF"

Hello,

With the function IF I have the following formula: =IF(E6=1;E3;0), this
works. But now I want to test for a cell where an X is written (E6=X;E3;0)
in stead of a 1 but this is not working. What is the method to do this?

You need to enclose text in quotation marks:

=IF(E6="X";E3;0)
