Hi - just new w/Excel & Mac... and can't find how to use the Function
(0 to 9) keys on Excel... when pressing them (directly or combined w/
Shift or Ctrl..) I get the standart Mac functions activated (like
volume, keyboard backlight, etc...) but not the ones related to Excel
(like F9 - Calc, etc...)

Thanks in advance...

Use the function key with the fn key (to the left of the ctrl key).

If you are using Jaguar (10.2.x) you can reverse this so that the built-in
functions require the fn key instead. Let me know and I can tell you how to do
it.

They removed that ability in Panther, sadly.

Reboot into OS9. In the keyboard control panel you can turn off the function
hot keys. The setting will stick when you reboot back into OSX.

I wish that I could do it in Panther since I use the normal functions in the
different applications much more frequently than I change the monitor or sound
settings.
