Hello, can you help me with windows mail?
When I go to type in the beginning of an email address to send--it will
not give me the choices after I type the first few letters in of a contact
I address often. Where do I go to adjust this?
Thank you, M
You're asking this question in the wrong forum. This one is devoted to
discussion of Microsoft Access, the database program.
However, the problem you describe is probably due to a difference between
Windows Mail and its predecessor, Outlook Express. Windows Mail takes
longer to load your list of contacts into memory than OE did -- a lot
longer, if you have a lot of contacts. So there is an option (on the Send
tab of the options dialog) that controls whether e-mail addresses are
autocompleted or not.
Because I have a *lot* of contacts, I leave that option turned off -- when I
had it turned on, I found that WinMail seemed to hang for a long time when I
started to create a new message (while the contacts were being loaded into
memory). I found that annoying, so I turned it off, and now I either wait
for it to do its lookup when I send the message, or I click the "Check
Names" button on the toolbar to force it to do the lookup when I want.
If you have the autocomplete option checked and you still aren't getting the
autocomplete feature, or if I have misunderstood your question, please
repost it in a more appropriate forum, and not as a reply to an existing
post.
