fund1, fund2, fund3 - repeating field question

I have a need to enter an account number nine times in one record. The
account number can be one of 10 accounts.

I know that it's bad practice to have; fund1, fund2, fund3...etc fields in
one table. I'm baffled on how else to enter this?

Can someone familiar with this problem give me some pointers?

Thanks

You have a table of Funds with an autonumber primary key.

Then your data could look like so:

AcctNo Fund
1234 1
1234 2
1234 4
5678 1
5678 9

It looks like you are taking a lump sum and distributing it into multiple
accounts. You need a table structure like:

TblAccount
AccountID
Account

TblDonor
DonorID
DonorFirstName
DonorLastName
etc

TblDonation
DonationID
DonorID
DonationDate

TblDonationDistribution
DonationDistributionID
DonationID
DistributionAmount
AccountID

Create a form/subform. Base the main form on TblDonation. Name the main form
SFrmDonation. Base the subform on TblDonationDistribution. Create a second
form/subform. Base the main form on TblDonor. Make SFrmDonation the subform.
