I just posted the following at the Adobe forums.
-------------------------------------------------
Acrobat 5.0.5 will not Install PDFMaker files if Office 2003 is installed.
Files did get installed in G:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\PDFMaker,
where G is a drive with another Win 2000 and has Office XP, but I am moving
to the J drive.
Files did not get installed in J:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 5.0\PDFMaker,
where J is the drive on which Win 2000 is installed.
I tried the install twice as follows:
1. Installed from the 5.0.5 CD-ROM and did Custom install to get PDFMaker
box checked.
2. Followed by install from a5u1t1.exe file, during which the install itself
listed PDFMaker as a selected option.
3. Follwed by an install of the security patch in A507AFP.exe.
At worst, the install should warn me that PDFMaker was not tested in Office
2003 and I install at my own risk.
Most importantly, given that PDFMaker was explicitly checked as an option,
the install should have explicitly told me that PDFMaker would not be
installed.
Adobe needs to make PDFMaker available for Office 2003 using Acrobat 5.*.
I sure will not consider getting Acrobat 6 if Adobe does not make PDFMaker
available via Acrobat 5.* for Office 2003.
